This is one of the most peaceful places on earth. The lake is spring fed so water is ALWAYS flowing over this wide spillway at the south end of the lake. This morning, the sound of water flowing.... the sun rising... lighting everything up ... and the fog was beautiful!

Interesting photo. Is there some kind of optical illusion going on with the trees in the background? I'd like to see this area from all angles, so I can get a sense of the elevations around whether this photo was shot. Tomorrow morning, maybe you can take a few more snapshots? There's something fishy going on in Idabel with this river and I'd like to figure it out. Some kind of special effects, maybe.
Andrew, fishy? no... fish? yes. This was taken right where the water flows over the spillway so you are looking at trees that are below the spillway. Thanks for commenting.
Amazing
Almost looks like a tide is coming in or going out
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
What an amazing shot. I'd love to be there listening to the sounds of the water and the nature around it.
Judi,
This is a beautifully peaceful picture.
Thank you for posting

As a teenager I put up signs for the last run at Governor that Raymond Gary made. He was a very nice man. Thanks for the picture and the memory.
Great, I just spent my weekend on the lake and we saw two eagles and great sunsets. I love your picture. It is great to get away.
